Police arrested a 41-year-old Greeley woman early Thursday after they say she threatened her ex-girlfriend with a knife.
Police were called about 6 a.m. to the 1400 block of 10th Street on a report of a disturbance involving weapons. Police spoke to a woman who told them her ex-girlfriend had kept her from leaving her room, threatened her with a knife, pushed her down and punched holes in the wall and bed with a kitchen knife, according to a news release from Greeley police spokesman Sgt. Joe Tymkowych.
Officers then spotted Valerie Lucero, 41, of Greeley, who was walking in the area of the residence where they believe the assault took place.
As they investigated, they found evidence to support the victim’s claims, and they arrested Lucero on suspicion of felony menacing, third-degree domestic violence assault and false imprisonment, the release stated.
Lucero remains in Weld County Jail and is due to appear in court at 11 a.m. Friday.
