Four people died and two others were injured in a vehicle collision on the Interstate 10 Freeway between Cherry and Citrus avenues in Fontana on the afternoon of Aug. 4.
Two of the persons who were killed were children, according to the California Highway Patrol, which is trying to determine if alcohol was a factor in the incident.
At about 12:35 p.m., a Nissan Frontier smashed into a Honda that was on the shoulder of the eastbound I-10. The two children were inside the Honda, while a woman and a man standing outside the vehicle also were struck and killed.
Another woman who was inside the Honda and the driver of the Nissan were injured and were transported to a local hospital.
