Coronado resident and author George Galdorisi is a busy man, with essentially two full-time jobs, neither of which include an active role in grandparenting his three grandsons along with his wife of 42 years, Becky Galdorisi. On a local fame scale, Becky who taught in the Coronado Unified School District for many years, is probably better known than her author husband, who is also a retired Navy captain and helicopter pilot, having served for 30 years.
Recently, Galdorisi discussed the fourth installment of the Tom Clancy Op-Center series entitled “Dark Zone.” “When Dick Couch and I auditioned with Dr. Steve Pieczenik and St. Martin’s Press, we told them there would be three main ingredients, plot, characterizations and lots of action. And we wanted to continue to be prescient in the Tom Clancy tradition about the future. Our first book in the series was “Out of the Ashes” and our goal was to anticipate where the next international crisis would be, to be current and topical. In the last book, “Dark Zone,” there is nothing in there that was unbelievable, including what you can get through an airport how to use a credit card to kill someone.
