City to hold Saturday events

The city of Norwalk Recreation and Park Services Department will hold events Saturday and next Saturday.

Summer Jamz will feature food and music from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Hermosillo Park, 11959 162nd St.,

There will be free hot dogs and dessert trucks will be on site selling delicious treats.

Live entertainment will be provided by the Latin funk and R&B band Soto.

A “Moana”-themed Aqua Carnival will be held from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. Aug. 12 at the Norwalk Aquatic Pavilion, 12301 Sproul St.

Event highlights include water slides, a dive contest and other in-water and out-of-water games. All recreational swim attire rules and regulations apply to enter the pool.

Event entrance fees are children, 6 months to 17 years old and seniors, age 55 and over, $4 and adults $5.

Senior Fair to be held Friday

Rep. Linda Sanchez, D-Norwalk, will hold her 15th annual senior fair from 9 a.m. to noon Friday at Cerritos College, 11110 Alondra Blvd.

Local organizations and agencies will provide assistance with Medicare, Social Security, veterans programs, food assistance programs, consumer protection and free health screenings. A free lunch will be provided.

Whole Child to hold Casino Night

The Whole Child will hold a fundraiser, Casino Night from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday at the Clarke Estate, 10211 Pioneer Blvd.

Tickets are $85.
