BELOIT, Wis. (AP) — Mike Martin hit a sacrifice fly and drove in Eric Marinez with the winning run in the 10th inning, as the Beloit Snappers defeated the Peoria Chiefs 7-6 on Thursday.
Marinez scored the game-winning run after he reached base on a walk, advanced to second on a walk by Jason Goldstein and then went to third on a walk by JaVon Shelby.
The Snappers tied the game 6-6 in the bottom of the eighth when Luke Persico scored on a wild pitch as part of a two-run inning.
Reliever John Gorman (1-0) went two scoreless innings, allowing two hits while striking out one to get the win. Dewin Perez (2-4) allowed one run and got two outs in the Midwest League game.
Miguel Mercedes was a triple short of the cycle, driving in two runs in the win. Goldstein doubled twice.
For the Chiefs, Kramer Robertson doubled and singled three times, scoring two runs.
