Middletown arrests for Aug. 4, 2017 – Connecticut News


Middletown police reported the following arrests:

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Cheryl Garner, 32, of Cubeta Road, Middletown, was arrested Aug. 2 and issued a misdemeanor summons for allegedly sending threatening texts and emails to a man she knew. Garner allegedly threatened to stab and kill the man if he returned to her home, police said. She was released on the conditions of release family violence and issued a court date of Aug. 3.

FAILURE TO APPEAR: Michael Thompson, 58, of Cherry Street, Montrose, Colo., was arrested Aug. 4 on an outstanding warrant charging him with second-degree failure to appear. He was held in lieu of $100 bail and issued a court date of Aug. 4.

FAILURE TO APPEAR: Isian Swain-Turner, 22, of Woodbury Circle, Middletown, was arrested Aug. 4 on an active warrant and charged with second-degree failure to appear. He was held in lieu on a $500 bail and issued a court date of Aug. 4.

BREACH OF PEACE: Gerald Aspinall, 60, of Killingworth Road, Higganum, was arrested Aug. 3 on an outstanding warrant and charged with second-degree breach of peace, improper passing and driving a vehicle with the intent to intimidate. He was released and issued a court date of Aug. 11.

ASSAULT: Frederick Somma, 34, of Hillside Avenue, Middletown, was arrested Aug. 3 and charged with interfering with an officer, disorderly conduct and third-degree assault. He is accused of repeatedly hitting a woman on her head, pulling and dragging her by her hair and pushing her to the ground. After being arrested, Somma yelled at the woman and the arresting officers and resisted being place in the police car, according to the…
