There were 37 bookings at the San Joaquin County Jail in the 24 hours ending at 8 a.m. Saturday. At that time, there were 1,340 people held at the jail, which has an official capacity of 1,665. When the jail is full, some inmates may be released early.
Robbery: Two people agreed to buy a cellphone off a website and meet the sellers in the 1100 block of Lever Boulevard at about 6:30 p.m. Friday. One of the individuals brandished a gun and demanded their property. The two robbers stole the property and were seen running north jumping fences. The first robber is described as a black man, 22 years old, 6 feet tall, 125 pounds with short hair and last seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, black pants and flip flops. The second robber is described as a black man, between 18-19 years old, 6 feet tall, 125 pounds with black curly hair and last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black shorts, black socks and flip-flops.
Discharge of a firearm: Two unknown suspects exchanged gunfire in a parking lot in the 1600 block of South Turnpike Road at 3:40 a.m. Saturday. Two vehicles were seen leaving the area and no injuries were reported.
The Stockton Fire Department responded to 135 calls for service in the 24 hours ending at 8 a.m. Saturday, including 15 vehicle accidents, 89 medical calls and two structure fires.
