Auburn woman faces child cruelty, battery charges, Nevada County authorities say – California News

An Auburn woman facing child abuse allegations was free Friday on $50,000 in bond, Nevada County Jail reports state.

Angela Claire Morin, 21, was arrested Thursday on charges of child cruelty and battery with serious bodily injury after deputies responded to reports of an injured child at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital, Lt. Sam Brown said.

“They had a child with significant bruises and injuries,” Brown added.

According to Brown, deputies called investigators with the sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit after responding to the Grass Valley hospital. Those investigators then interviewed Morin and others.

After the interviews, investigators arrested Morin, he added.

The injured child, under 5 years old, along with two other children who live with Morin are now in the care of Child Protective Services, Brown said.
