KEIZER, Ore. (AP) — Rob Calabrese doubled and singled twice as the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes defeated the Everett AquaSox 8-6 on Friday.
Orlando Garcia singled three times with two RBIs for Salem-Keizer.
With the game tied 1-1 in the third, Salem-Keizer went out in front when Garcia hit an RBI single and Kevin Rivera drew a bases-loaded walk.
Trailing 6-3, the AquaSox tied the game in the eighth inning when Greifer Andrade hit a three-run home run.
The Volcanoes took the lead for good in the eighth when Garcia hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Bryce Johnson.
Aaron Phillips (3-0) got the win in relief while Fabian Roman (0-1) took the loss in the Northwest League game. John Russell retired the side in order for his third save of the season.
For the AquaSox, Chris Torres homered and doubled, scoring a pair of runs while also driving home a couple. Johnny Adams singled three times, also stealing a base.
With the win, Salem-Keizer improved to 5-2 against Everett this season.
