LAKEWOOD, N.J. (AP) — Colby Fitch homered and singled twice, scoring four runs and driving in three as the Lakewood BlueClaws beat the Hagerstown Suns 12-5 on Friday.
Darick Hall homered and singled with two runs and a pair of RBIs for Lakewood.
Trailing 2-0, the BlueClaws took the lead for good with five runs in the second inning. The BlueClaws sent 11 men to the plate as Hall hit a solo home run en route to the three-run lead.
The BlueClaws later scored in three more innings to punctuate the blowout, including three runs in the third and eighth innings. In the third, Luke Williams hit an RBI single and then scored on a triple by Jesus Alastre, while Fitch hit a three-run home run in the eighth.
Lakewood starter Bailey Falter (6-6) picked up the win despite allowing four runs and six hits over five innings. Opposing starter Weston Davis (2-4) took the loss in the South Atlantic League game after allowing five runs and four hits over 1 2/3 innings.
Nick Banks doubled and singled twice, scoring two runs for the Suns.
