OAKLAND — The body of a man found dead Sunday morning on the Oakland Estuary shoreline did not show any obvious signs of trauma, police said.
A person walking at the estuary discovered the dead man around 9:10 a.m. on the shoreline behind an apartment complex located at 7 Embarcadero West, police said. Authorities did not know immediately how long the body had been there.
An autopsy will be performed to determine the man’s cause of death. The Alameda County Coroner’s Office did not identify him immediately pending notification of the man’s family.
Police also want to hear from anyone who may have information about the man, or any small detail that may help them understand how he ended up in the estuary. Those with information can call 510-238-3821.
