FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) — Hudson Potts had four hits, while Marcus Greene and Reinaldo Ilarraza recorded three apiece as the Fort Wayne TinCaps topped the West Michigan Whitecaps 16-3 on Friday.
Potts doubled three times and singled, scoring four runs and driving home a couple. Greene homered and singled twice, scoring a couple of runs while also driving home two.
With the game tied 2-2, the TinCaps took the lead for good with three runs in the third inning. Greene hit a two-run home run en route to the three-run lead.
Fort Wayne later scored in four additional innings, including a five-run seventh, when Jack Suwinski hit a solo home run to help put the game out of reach.
Fort Wayne right-hander Lake Bachar (2-0) picked up the win after allowing two runs on five hits over five innings. Opposing starter Anthony Castro (8-4) took the loss in the Midwest League game after a rough outing in which he allowed eight runs and nine hits over 4 1/3 innings.
Despite the loss, West Michigan is 12-4 against Fort Wayne this season.
