BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) — Adrian Rondon hit a two-run homer in the fourth inning, and Rene Pinto doubled and singled as the Bowling Green Hot Rods beat the Lansing Lugnuts 3-0 on Friday.
The home run by Rondon scored Bobby Melley to give the Hot Rods a 2-0 lead.
The Hot Rods tacked on another run in the sixth when Pinto hit an RBI double, bringing home Jesus Sanchez.
Bowling Green starter Chris Pike (3-3) picked up the win after allowing four hits over seven scoreless innings. Opposing starter Kyle Weatherly (0-3) took the tough loss in the Midwest League game after giving up two runs and three hits over five innings. Joe Serrapica pitched two scoreless innings for his fourth save of the season.
The Lugnuts were blanked for the fourth time this season, while the Hot Rods’ staff recorded their 10th shutout of the year.
