The 26th annual Angel of Shavano Car Show had more than 100 entrants for the event at Riverside Park Saturday and plenty more onlookers.
The show is expected to raise about $14,000 with proceeds going to Chaffee County Search and Rescue South.
“Our group is 100 percent volunteer,” said volunteer Josiah Nierman. “This show and the donations allow us to get training and equipment that is needed to serve our county and help other counties when needed pretty much the remainder of the year.”
“Gear heads”, families and anyone who admired cars visited the show to learn of the stories behind each vehicle.
One of those was nearly 50 years in the making.
