I always love to hear stories about YVEA in the past and our history, so I thank Ms. Phyllis Bingham for her letter to the editor of July 21 sharing the wonderful memories of her husband’s time working at Yampa Valley Electric Association.
When I think of family, I think of a group of people who stand by one another in good and bad times; support each other and want to see their family members succeed and grow. I see these same family-like traits and values in YVEA today. It continues to be a great place to work.
While much has changed in the 75 years of YVEA’s existence, the dedicated service and excellence of our YVEA team has remained constant. I’d like to take this opportunity to share how we are changing again, in Craig.
We will begin remodeling our Craig campus on the west edge of town next year. We plan to serve members from that location far into the future and to do so, we have to manage significant drainage issues along with challenges we face with the height of our garage and our lobby. We have a few busy construction years in front of us, as we try to bring both of our aging campuses up to date.
Along with physical changes to the campus, we are developing plans to staff that location in a new and effective manner. While our temporary location at City Market has been convenient for some members, we are excited to return to the YVEA building and provide service for members from Hayden to Baggs who use that location.
