An Altoona woman has been arrested for chemical endangerment of a child, according to Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin and Investigator Brandi Fuller.
Destiny Bree Stipes, 21, initially was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on drug charges.
Stipes told an Etowah County Detention Center employee she was pregnant and admitted to using methamphetamine and Suboxine knowing she was pregnant.
She is in jail on $10,000 cash bond for the chemical endangerment warrant. As a condition of her bond, she must successfully complete a drug treatment program and will be supervised by Etowah Community Corrections upon release.
Stipes does not have a bond for the failure to appear warrant and also faces charges from another agency.
