Arkansas State Police recruiters are looking for candidates who are interested in enrolling in the 2018 academy class. Thirty-five recruits will be selected to enter the academy early next year, according to a news release.
“If you can meet the minimum qualifications and are ready to excel in earning the badge of an Arkansas state trooper, we want to meet you,” Col. Bill Bryant, Arkansas State Police director, says in a news release. “If you are selected, you will find yourself on the path of one of the most rewarding careers imaginable.”
Candidates must be a U.S. citizen at least 21 years old; possess a medical release to participate in a physical fitness test; have a current and valid driver’s license; be a certified high school graduate or possess a GED equivalency; meet visual acuity requirements; have no felony criminal or misdemeanor domestic violence convictions; be able to pass a comprehensive background check; and have no tattoos that could be seen if wearing the uniform of an Arkansas state trooper, according to the news release.
