Corning >> A 15-year-old boy was arrested and booked into Tehama County Juvenile Hall Saturday on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, brandishing a knife and resisting arrest following an incident at the Corning Skate Park on Saturday night.
The victims were Corning residents Thomas Garry, 49, Arturo Madera, 33, Claudia Marquez, 49, Cruz Miranda, 32. Garry sustained several stab wounds and was transported to Enloe Medical Center with moderate to life-threatening injuries, according to a press release issued Sunday by the Corning Police Department.
Officers responded to the incident just before 11 p.m. Saturday regarding a suspect allegedly stabbing a man with a knife. When on scene, officers witnessed the boy chasing several victims around the parking lot of the skate park, the release said.
A foot pursuit ensued, with the officers capturing the suspect.
Upon further investigation, police learned the suspect began an argument, later brandishing a knife and trying to stab several of the victims.
