J.P. Dental & Implant Center welcomes new dentist

J.P. Dental and Implant Center is excited to introduce a new dentist to the practice, Dr. Arielle Garfinkle, DMD, or Dr. Ari, as the staff likes to introduce her. Dr. Garfinkle comes to J.P. Dental after a year with Marillac Health, which she found through an innovative residency program at NYU that pairs dental residents with public health clinics.
“I saw it as an opportunity for adventure,” said Garfinkle, who comes from Philadelphila, Penn., where she attended Temple University Dental School.
“An opportunity to go somewhere I’d never been.”
Garfinkle and her husband ended up renting a house in Mesa, making the experience truly worlds apart from their previous experiences. Garfinkle didn’t mind the commute, and the clear night skies in Mesa proved to be great for her husband, who was working remotely for an astronomy company.
He recently found his dream job at Grand Mesa Observatory, a remote astro imaging and hosting site on Purdy Mesa, and the couple is thrilled to be able to continue their Western Colorado adventure.
“I go home every day and am thankful that we live here,” Garfinkle said.
Dr. John Poovey had been looking for the right person to join his practice for several months, and believes he found the perfect fit with Garfinkle, who joined the practice in July.
“Her expertise and bedside manner are exceptional,” Poovey said.
