MH Force wins trio to stay alive at World Series – Arkansas News

The Mountain Home Force 12-year-old baseball team put together three straight victories to stay alive at the Cal Ripken Major/70 World Series at Ballparks of America in Branson, Mo.

The Force fell in their first two Pool D games last week, but Mountain Home rebounded to post a 14-13 victory over Minot, N.D. to close pool play on Sunday.

Mountain Home opened bracket play with a 7-5 win over North Platte, Neb., on Sunday night at the Busch Stadium replica field, and the Force kept their momentum going Monday by edging out a 3-2 victory over Waite Park, Minn., in the United States bracket on the Fenway Park replica field.

Mountain Home advanced to the U.S. Bracket quarterfinals, which was to be played Monday evening against the Mililani KC team out of Hawaii, at the Wrigley Field replica stadium.

The Mountain Home team dropped its first two games in pool play over the weekend.

The Force fell 5-4 to Jeffersontown, Ky., the Ohio Valley Regional champion, in a nailbiter on Thursday at the Wrigley Field replica stadium.

Mountain Home dropped another close game, 4-2, to West Linn, Ore., the Pacific Northwest champ, in pool play Friday night on the same field.
