COLUMBIA, MO. • A couple news and notes before we get to Monday’s three big things we learned at Mizzou practice.
• Walter Palmore was cleared late last week and has been practicing with the Tigers the last few days. The junior college defensive tackle weighed in at 335 pounds Monday—and that was before breakfast, Barry Odom noted.
• Junior college defensive tackle Rashad Brandon is still in street clothes and not practicing while MU waits for clearance from the NCAA. MU is also waiting on junior college defensive lineman Malik Young to be cleared by the NCAA.
• A few players were nursing minor injuries and held out of some drills: safety Ronnell Perkins (hamstring), defensive tackle Markel Utsey (shoulder), linebacker Kaleb Prewett (hip), linebacker Terez Hall (lower leg) and wide receiver Justin Smith (knee).
Smith banged his knee on the turf Saturday during a red zone 1-on-1 drill and his knee was too swollen for him to practice. Prewett and Hall were in red jerseys but went through most drills during the day. Utsey sprained his shoulder Saturday but avoided a serious injury. He could be…
