SALISBURY, Md. (AP) — Nick Banks hit a two-run triple in the third inning, leading the Hagerstown Suns to an 8-5 win over the Delmarva Shorebirds in the second game of a doubleheader on Tuesday.
Phil Morse got Daniel Fajardo to fly out with runners on first and second to end the game for his fourth save of the season.
The triple by Banks came in the midst of a six-run inning and gave the Suns a 4-1 lead. Later in the inning, Oliver Ortiz hit an RBI double and Adderling Ruiz hit an RBI single.
The Suns later tacked on a run in both the fourth and fifth innings. In the fourth, Paul Panaccione hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Blake Perkins, while Ruiz hit an RBI single in the fifth.
Ruiz singled three times, driving in two runs for Hagerstown.
Jake Barnett (1-0) got the win in relief while Delmarva starter Travis Seabrooke (3-6) took the loss in the South Atlantic League game.
Several Shorebirds chipped in at the plate, as five players had at least two hits.
The Suns swept both games of the doubleheader after winning the first game 9-8. Hagerstown improved to 14-6 against Delmarva this season.
