Manhattan Beach police arrested two men suspected of breaking into vehicles on a quiet residential street early Monday morning and are asking for the public’s help to find a third accomplice.
Rolando Luna Garcia, 42, of Pacoima and Rolando Enrique Magana, 28, of Los Angeles were arrested about 2:40 a.m. after police searching the 1900 block of Pine Avenue pulled them over in a vehicle seen leaving the area.
About 40 minutes earlier, a homeowner on that street called 911 and said three burglars were ransacking a neighbor’s unlocked vehicle. The witness shouted at them and they took off running down Pine Avenue toward 19th Street, according to police.
During the traffic stop, police found evidence linking Garcia and Magana to another burglary that occurred earlier on the same street. In that case, the burglars allegedly broke into a vehicle parked in a driveway, stole a garage door opener and used it to get inside a garage, where they broke into another car inside, said Sgt. Tim Zins of the Manhattan Beach Police Department.
Police have no description of the third burglar.
Garcia and Magana were charged with felony burglary and are each being held on $50,000 bail.
Anyone with information or security cameras in the 1900 to 2000 blocks of Pine Avenue that might have captured the outstanding burglar is urged to contact Detective Traci Navarrette at 310-802-5125.
