Howard passed peacefully in his home on Aug. 4, 2017, with his wife, Naomi, at his side. He was born on April 16, 1941. He was preceded in death by his mother, Anne Olsen, and his father, Howard Ray Patridge. He lived with his grandparents, Angelo and Delores Giannini Sr., and was raised by them and his Aunt Bertha “Auntie Lu” Barsuglia. Howard attended Half Moon Bay Elementary and Half Moon Bay High schools, graduating in 1959. He played on the football, basketball and baseball teams.
After graduation, Howard entered into the field of auto repair and painting. He became a very talented painter. He married in 1961 and continued to make his home in Half Moon Bay. His hobbies included drag racing, building his 1973 Nova, and softball. He had a love for animals.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Naomi; brothers-in-law Sam (Marcy) Imamura and Tsutomu (Brenda) Imamura; sisters-in law Ruth (Jon) Cardoni and Ann (Andy) Riddell; daughter Dianna Lyda-Savich; granddaughters Addison and Taylor; and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
Howard will be remembered for his smile, love of joking with everyone, and his carefree nature. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Redwood City Senior Softball Club, P.O. Box 3904, Redwood City, CA 94064.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. and a rosary at 7-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 9, at Miller-Dutra. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 10, at Our Lady of the Pillar Catholic Church in Half Moon Bay. Burial services will be private.
