NCFC to open play this month
Starting this fall, Northern Colorado Football Club will compete in the United Premier Soccer League, according to a news release from the team.
The Fort Collins-based club will play in the league’s Championship Division in the Colorado Conference. Home games will be played at Loveland Sports Park, 950 N. Boyd Lake Ave. in Loveland, with the inaugural home game set for Aug. 20.
The team — which was started by friends Trevor Cothren, Eduardo De Santiago, Sergio Galvan and Delfino Walker — will have the opportunity to compete against Greeley’s FC Greeley and crosstown rival FC United, both of which play in the UPSL’s Pro Premier Division.
“We have such a strong pool of players in northern Colorado, it’s easy to see why there are so many good, competitive organizations in the area,” Walker said.
