FRESNO, Calif. (AP) — Travis Jankowski was a home run short of the cycle, and Bryan Rodriguez allowed just two hits over 6 2/3 innings as the El Paso Chihuahuas beat the Fresno Grizzlies 7-5 on Tuesday.
Rodriguez (6-7) allowed two runs while striking out two and walking one to get the win.
Down 5-4, the Chihuahuas took the lead for good with two runs in the seventh inning. Diego Goris drew a bases-loaded walk, scoring Ryan Schimpf en route to the one-run lead.
The Chihuahuas tacked on another run in the ninth when Goris hit an RBI single, bringing home Rafael Ortega.
Jordan Jankowski (1-3) went two innings, allowing two runs and one hit in the Pacific Coast League game. He also struck out two and walked four. Adam Cimber retired the side in order for his third save of the season.
A.J. Reed homered and doubled, scoring two runs for the Grizzlies.
