Has the summer heat got you down?

If so, you might want to push your blues away with a good giggle. The fourth annual Burbank Comedy Festival will be held at Flappers Comedy Club & Restaurant and Hilton Garden Inn Burbank Downtown in Burbank and L.A. Connection Comedy Theatre in Magnolia Park Aug. 13-19.

The event will feature more than 100 performances by such comedians as Jimmy Dore, Kevin Pollak, Carol Leifer, Christopher Titus, Hal Sparks, Kel Mitchell, David Zucker and Jimmy Pardo, as well as live celebrity podcasts, industry panels, workshops and after parties.

The Burbank Comedy Festival was started as a way to find the best talent from all over the country and connect it with the entertainment industry, event co-producer Joshua Snyder said.

“I’m excited because we really succeeded this year in having a major talent on every night of the festival, and it’s gratifying to know that we’re attracting bigger names to it,” Snyder said. “The more big names we can get, the more it helps all the other comedians, the new and emerging talent, that we’re bringing in because they get to open for these big names and they get a lot of the exposure they would not have normally have…
