10 things you need to know about CatCon 2017, the feline festival in Pasadena – California News




Although CatCon 2017 at the Pasadena Convention Center Saturday Aug. 12 and Sunday Aug. 13 may make you feel warm and fuzzy, it may also be a bit overwhelming, as there’s so much to see and do. To help you out, we have 10 things we’re excited about:

Julie Newmar: Meet the actress and author who made Hollywood purr as the original Catwoman in the “Batman” television series 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday.

Kitten Lady: Also known as Hannah Shaw, she is known for her devotion to rescuing orphaned kittens. She will share some of her stories 10:30 a.m. Sunday and you can meet her 1-3 p.m. Saturday and noon-1:30 p.m. Sunday.

Men and Cats: Hear true love cat daddy tales from Mike Bridavsky and Lil Bub, actor Gilles Marini (“Sex and The City,” “Brothers & Sisters”), Chris Poole (father of Cole and Marmalade) and Jonathan Zurbel (father of Samson, aka Catstradamus 12:30 p.m. Sunday.

Southern Cat-ifornia: Historian Paul Koudounaris will present a slide lecture on the history of local cats 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

Video Fest: Can you ever really watch enough cat videos? Here’s 45 minutes of furry fun with model and activist Tess Holliday, plus a live performance by Moshow the Cat Rapper.

CatCon Awareness Pavilion: Get the latest information on cat health and awareness issues so you can care for your feline and help spread the word on kitty causes.

Shopping: Seriously? You would dare to spend all day with other cats and cat lovers and not go home with a little something for your best buddy and a souvenir for yourself? Enough said.
