Convicted rapist accused of drugging runaway girls – California News

JOSHUA TREE — A convicted sex offender was arrested Thursday after deputies said he had given two 14-year-old girls methamphetamine, alcohol and marijuana over several days at his remote property.

Randy Allen Myers, 58, has been charged with felony child abuse as well as being a felon with firearms and ammunition.

The Sheriff’s Department reports that a local deputy assigned to investigate child abuse developed information that Myers had given drugs and alcohol, including “a large amount of methamphetamine,” to two girls who had run away from their homes. Myers allegedly drugged the girls over a period of several days at his house at 1523 Shangri La Lane in the north Joshua Tree-Landers area.

One of the girls was hospitalized as a result of her severe drug and alcohol exposure, a report from the sheriff’s station states.
