The Encinitas Rotary Wine & Food Festival raised $130,000 for 20 charities that help children and communities locally and globally. The 14th annual event drew more than 1,000 participants and was sold out for the 10th year in a row. The festival featured specialties contributed by 25 local wineries and breweries, and 20 area restaurants, served at the second hole of the Encinitas Ranch Golf Course.
This year’s beneficiaries ranged from North County Lifeline, Magdalena Ecke Family YMCA, Mexican American Educational Guidance Association and All Star Vets to the Encinitas Educational Foundation, American Cancer Society Relay for Life and Soul Thirst Africa.
The event has raised more than $1.2 million over the past 14 years.
