TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Kyle Holder hit a walk-off single in the 14th inning, as the Tampa Yankees beat the Clearwater Threshers 2-1 on Wednesday. The Yankees swept the three-game series with the win.
Alexander Palma scored the game-winning run after he led off the inning with a double and advanced to third on an error.
In the bottom of the first, Tampa grabbed the lead on a double by Trey Amburgey that scored Estevan Florial. Clearwater answered in the sixth inning when Wilson Garcia scored on a forceout.
Tampa starter Brian Keller allowed one run and six hits over six innings. He also struck out 11 and walked one. Stephen Tarpley (5-0) got the win with three innings of scoreless, two-hit relief while Tyler Gilbert (0-5) took the loss in the Florida State League game.
