Options given to the City of Mena by the State Highway Department regarding the stalled North Morgan Street project were reviewed by Mena’s Road Committee during a meeting Thursday, August 3.
While options to pursue the project at previously estimated cost were included, discussions of including a traffic light and additional infrastructure, such as electricity, curbs and sidewalks were considered.
“If we are considering our options, I don’t see why we don’t at least look into what it would take to do the project in full, the right way, from the start,” said council member Andy Brown.
Mena Mayor George McKee said including extras would increase material, labor and engineering cost.
