9 a.m.-5 p.m. – Contin-tail Rock and Mineral Show at Buena Vista Rodeo Grounds, near Gregg Drive and CR 321 (Rodeo Road).

5:30-7 p.m. – Creative Mixer, a networking event for musicians, dancers, writers, artists, art lovers and community members, at Salida SteamPlant Paquette Gallery, 220 W. Sackett Ave. Free admission and munchies. Everyone welcome. salidacouncilforthearts.org.

9 a.m.-5 p.m. – Contin-tail Rock and Mineral Show at Buena Vista Rodeo Grounds, near Gregg Drive and CR 321 (Rodeo Road).

Noon-7 p.m. – Ark-Valley Humane Society Open House, 701 Gregg Drive, Buena Vista, features food, free microchipping, pet photo booth and do-it-yourself dog baths.

3-7 p.m. – Buena Vista Farmers Market at South Main Town Square features local foods, art, crafts and live music. ccfa.coop.

7 p.m. – Mount Olivet Cemetery tour at 257 S. Rodeo Road, Buena Vista. Costumed characters from Buena Vista’s past, including Alsina Dearheimer, “Mother of Buena Vista,” are featured in this tour through the old section of the cemetery. Admission is $8 for adults, $5 for children 12 and younger.

7:30 a.m.-2 p.m. – Arkansas Headwaters Recreation Area naturalist Kerry Dietterich and volunteer naturalist Bob Hickey lead a hike to Hartenstein Lake near Cottonwood Pass. Call AHRA at 539-7289 to register or contact Dietterich at katherine.dietterich@state.co.us for more information.
