Real estate startup zavvie expanding into California – Colorado News

BOULDER — Zavvie, a real estate tech startup based in Boulder, announced Wednesday that it will offer its marketing platform to residential real estate agents in seven metropolitan areas in California.

The company made the announcement at Inman Connect, a real estate technology conference in San Francisco.

Zavvie’s platform provides local real estate data to client agents for a specific neighborhood territory. Once approved for a territory, agents receive access to Zavvie’s marketing system that includes a website, Facebook page, daily content updates on listings, and mobile and desktop apps that make that agent look like the “neighborhood expert.” Territories generally do not exceed 2,000 homes.

Zavvie will begin offering territories in major markets in California including Sacramento, San Francisco, San Jose, Los Angeles, Riverside, San Diego and Fresno.

The startup was founded by real estate brokerage veterans Lane Hornung and Stefan Peterson, and it launched the marketing platform in test markets in Colorado in February. The company said in a prepared statement that more than half of its territories in Colorado are sold out.

Zavvie is a spinoff of 8z Real Estate, an independent residential brokerage also based in Boulder. Hornung, chief executive, and Peterson, chief operating officer, developed and refined the platform using it within 8z Real Estate.

“As a hyperlocal marketing system, zavvie is pioneering for real estate agents, a transition from traditional offline farm marketing to an online approach that is far more efficient and cost-effective,” Hornung said.
