Riverside burglar sentenced to 16 months; accomplice skips court – California News

A Riverside man convicted in a string of burglaries in four cities was sentenced Thursday, Aug. 10, to 16 months in county jail.

Mark Edward Daniels, 30, was part of a two-man burglary team that struck businesses in Riverside, Perris, Moreno Valley and San Bernardino. He and his accomplice, Joshua Dean Miller, 35, of Moreno Valley, both pleaded guilty last month to charges that include burglary, vehicle theft and receiving stolen property.

Miller, who was free on bail, did not appear for Thursday’s sentencing hearing, so the judge issued a bench warrant for Miller’s arrest.

Daniels was arrested in May after an off-duty officer spotted a car that had been reported stolen. Further investigation led detectives to Miller’s residence in Moreno Valley, where he was arrested, police said.

Four stolen vehicles along with goods stolen from a business the previous night were found in the suspects’ possession, police said.
