The culmination of hard work and dedication paid off Monday for Finley Petit, 15.
Petit received his rank of Eagle Scout and a pin recognizing the honor for Boy Scouts of Salida Troop 60.
“It’s been great. It took a while to get to this point,” Petit said. “It’s nice to celebrate just a little bit.”
Petit became a Boy Scout at 11 years old. Being in a military family, he said he moved several times between each rank.
Those moves didn’t hinder his motivation to become an Eagle Scout, the highest rank a Scout can reach.
Both of Petit’s brothers, Shep and Grady, attained Eagle ranking.
