Still no Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck, and his replacements look bad | Sports – Arizona News

Scott Tolzien has been taking the majority of the reps as the projected primary backup and the de facto starter in Luck’s absence. Thursday’s practice was a tough one for him, but really for the entire offense. Tolzien bobbled one snap and later threw a pass behind Kamar Aiken that tipped off his hands into those of Lions CB Darius Slay, for his second pick of the day. Slay’s first interception came on an under thrown pass by undrafted rookie QB Phillip Walker, who received the majority of the reps that Tolzien didn’t. Interestingly, Stephen Morris — who was on the Colts roster last year — barely saw any action that we viewed in this practice session. It was not all bad for Tolzien, as he arched a pretty pump-and-go pass to T.Y. Hilton for a huge gain in full-team work. But the ball was stripped away by Lions CB Teez Tabor, making it either a fumble or an incomplete pass (there were no referees used during the session). (photo credit: USA Today Network)
