Straight No Chaser brings a cappella to the Greek along with Postmodern Jukebox – California News

Tight harmonies, smooth moves and a twist of humor make Straight No Chaser’s a cappella performances memorable and have kept the group steadily working for the past nine years.

SNC was originally founded at Indiana University in 1996 and in 2008 eight of the group’s original members, plus two from later years, united off-campus to record the album “Holiday Spirits.” The effort became the No. 1 selling album on both the iTunes and Amazon.com charts.

Since then there have been nine more albums, including “Six Pack: Volume 3” (Atlantic Records), which was released in July.

SNC is on tour in support of its latest effort and will be performing with Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox and Jon McLaughlin at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles Aug. 12.

“Performing at the Greek is going to be a bucket list item for all of us for sure; it’s going to be an incredible night,” Seggie Isho said.

Isho has a passion for performing

Isho has been performing in choirs, plays and musicals since he was 5 years old. He was the director of operations for 30 Sprint franchise stores in the Las Vegas area in 2009 when he got the call inviting him to join SNC.

“Being onstage and being a performer is my passion my entire life, so it was a chance I had to take,” Isho said.

SNC is a full-time job. If the group is not on tour, then the members are selecting or creating material for their next outing and recording.
