Vincej’s triple leads Louisville over Durham in 11 innings | Sports – California News

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — Zach Vincej hit a two-run triple in the top of the 11th inning to help lead the Louisville Bats to a 7-4 win over the Durham Bulls on Wednesday.

The triple by Vincej scored Eric Jagielo and Tyler Goeddel. The triple came after a solo home run by Chad Wallach that gave the Bats the lead earlier in the inning.

The Bats tied the game 4-4 in the ninth when Hernan Iribarren scored on a forceout.

Wallach homered and singled twice, scoring two runs in the win.

Nick Routt (2-4) got the win with two innings of scoreless, one-hit relief while Chase Whitley (0-2) took the loss in the International League game. Jimmy Herget retired the side in order for his seventh save of the season.

For the Bulls, Shane Peterson homered and singled, also stealing a base. Jake Hager had a pair of hits.
