Deanna Lois Hamilton
Deanna passed away peacefully on July 18, after a brief and fierce battle with cancer. She was the loving wife of 54 years to her high school sweetheart, Jarrett L. Hamilton, and sister to William Van Nuys. She was preceded in death by sister Patricia Hopkins. She was beloved mother to Jennifer Donald, Jarrett Scott Hamilton, Danielle Mickelson and Pete Van Nuys; adored mother in-law to Warren Donald, Mary Jane Hamilton, Kris Mickelson and Lori Van Nuys, cherished grandmother to Ashley, Bri, Samantha, Rachel, William, Molly, Jack, Vince, Isabelle, Mallory, Sierra, Lucky, Jake and was preceded in death by Connor.
Deanna was born on Sept. 29, 1944, in Steubenville, Ohio. She graduated from Jefferson Union High School in 1962. Upon her marriage she embarked on many adventures that led to living in Key West, Fla.; San Diego; Columbus, Ohio; Chicago; Cleveland; and Half Moon Bay, where she landed for a bit before arriving in the Sierra foothills.
Along her way she raised a beautiful family that she loved dearly. She was a brilliant business woman having started two of her own businesses: The Gold Mine and Lou Lou’s. Known as Dee or Mrs. H to many, she opened her home to everyone, always offering homemade meals and great conversation. With all her accomplishments, her family was forever her focus and she loved the life she had created with her husband, Jarrett, on their 58-year journey.
She will be forever remembered for her inspiration, her cooking, her company and her love. She will be forever…
