A 30-year-old Lochbuie woman died Aug. 5 in a traffic crash in southern Weld County.
The crash happened about 10:15 p.m. less than a mile north of Brighton, when Crystal Branstner, 30, of Lochbuie was headed south in a 1999 Toyota pickup on U.S. 85.
She attempted to make a left turn off of the highway onto Weld County Road 4. A 2010 Ford Focus driven by Madison Dent, 18, of Brighton was headed north, Colorado State Patrol Trooper Josh Lewis said Friday.
The Toyota entered the northbound lanes of U.S. 85, where the Ford hit it. The force of the collision pushed the Toyota into a roll. Branstner, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, was ejected from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Dent suffered minor injuries, and she was taken in an ambulance to Platte Valley Hospital, 1600 Prairie Center Parkway in Brighton.
Lewis said authorities do not believe drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash.
