ERIE, Pa. (AP) — Gabriel Quintana homered twice, driving home three runs and scoring a couple as the Erie SeaWolves defeated the New Hampshire Fisher Cats 4-3 on Friday.
Harold Castro doubled and singled, also stealing two bases for Erie.
New Hampshire had runners on first and second in the top of the ninth, but a runner was thrown out on a single to end the game as Paul Voelker earned his fifth save of the season.
New Hampshire took the lead in the first when Jonathan Davis hit a solo home run and Reese McGuire hit a two-run double.
After Erie scored two runs in the fourth, the SeaWolves tied it up in the sixth inning when Quintana hit a solo home run.
The SeaWolves took the lead for good in the eighth when Quintana hit a sacrifice fly, scoring A.J. Simcox.
Kurt Spomer (5-3) got the win with a scoreless inning in relief while Griffin Glaude (0-1) took the loss in the Eastern League game.
The Fisher Cats left some scoring opportunities on the table, stranding 14 baserunners in the loss. McGuire doubled twice and singled, driving in two runs for the Fisher Cats. Davis homered and singled.
With the win, Erie improved to 3-1 against New Hampshire this season.
