Clearwater answered in the next half-inning when Derek Campbell hit an RBI single, driving in Cornelius Randolph to get within two.

Lakeland right-hander Kyle Dowdy (8-9) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing one run on seven hits over eight innings. Opposing starter McKenzie Mills (0-1) took the loss in the Florida State League game after allowing three runs and five hits over six innings.
