Greenwich Hospital August offerings


Greenwich Hospital offers classes and lectures this month, including: A two-hour course on cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, “CPR Friends and Family, infant/child, will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday and Aug. 26 and 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 15 in the Medical Education room. Free Shabbat Torah Study


Rabbi Jodie and Gary Gerson will conduct a Torah study session and bagel brunch at 10:30 a.m. Saturday and Aug. 19 on the topic of ‘Demons and Angels in the Jewish Tradition’ at the Greenwich Reform Synagogue, 92 Orchard St., Cos Cob. Topics will include exorcisms, the evil eye, the prophet Elijah and the angel Metratron. The event is free and open to all. RSVP to the synagogue at stephanieglaser@jrs.org.

Wine pairing dinner


A seven-course wine pairing dinner is set for 7 p.m. Saturday at the Club at the St. Lawrence Society, 86 Valley Road Cos Cob. Tickets are $100. California vintner Mitch Cosentino of PureCru Napa Valley Wines and Chef John Molinari are collaborating on the planned menu and wine selections.
