CoCo leaders could give ‘Saranap Village’ approvals Tuesday – California News

MARTINEZ — Almost four years in the making, a controversial residential and retail project on the main street of Saranap, an unincorporated community between Walnut Creek and Lafayette, could get key approvals from the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday.

Walnut Creek-based developer Mark Hall and his Hall Equities Group have been working on Saranap Village, which would have up to 198 housing units (122 apartments, 76 condos), approximately 21,522 square feet of commercial space (including a grocery store) and 492 parking spaces, both on the street and in three parking structures. The project, which would occupy land on both sides of Boulevard Way, could get basic approvals for its general plan amendment, rezoning, development plan and development agreement on Tuesday. On June 28, 2017, the County Planning Commission on June 28 approved the proposed major subdivision, land use permit and tree permit applications.
