Colorado Department of Transportation crews and contractor RL Wadsworth will conduct a traffic switch from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Wednesday and Thursday on Interstate 25 at the Crossroads Boulevard exit in Loveland.
According to a CDOT news release, northbound traffic will be realigned onto the newly constructed bridge. Southbound traffic will be realigned later this month. The bridge has sufficient room to temporarily handle all four lanes of traffic on the interstate.
Once southbound traffic is realigned, the temporary bridge will be removed. The old southbound bridge is scheduled for demolition and removal at the end of August.
Work will then begin on the new southbound bridge in the fall, according to the release.
In the event of a ramp closure, a detour takes northbound motorists up East County Road 32 and around the project. The southbound detour is U.S. 24 at exit 257. Either detour adds about five minutes of travel.
