Highlights from Saturday’s USC football practice – Orange County Register – California News

A brief look at the Trojans’ training-camp practice on Saturday at Howard Jones-Brian Kennedy Field:

BIG MOMENT

After rushing for a pair of touchdowns in USC’s first live scrimmage a week earlier, freshman running back Stephen Carr followed up with some more impressive runs Saturday, including one scamper for about 40 yards. Most of Carr’s carries were against the second-team defense. USC coach Clay Helton has been complimentary of Carr’s explosiveness through two weeks of training camp.

INJURY REPORT

There were no major injuries during USC’s scrimmage. Running back Aca’Cedric Ware was pulled with an AC sprain in his shoulder. Right tackle Chuma Edoga left after one of his toes was stepped on. Freshman cornerback Greg Johnson has been held out of practice since Wednesday with a shoulder injury. Safety Marvell Tell did not participate in the scrimmage portion of practice. He has been working his way back form hamstring tightness. Tight end Tyler Petite, who had been in the concussion protocol, remains limited.

KICKING WOES
