In reference to the suspicious object that was reeled in by a fisherman near the Peel Ferry, the Arkansas State Police rendered the device safe and the Peel Ferry was opened back up at 3:45, according to Marion County Sheriff Clinton Evans.
A local fisherman contacted the Marion County Sheriff’s Department about a suspicious object that he had hooked and reeled onto shore near the Peel ferry, which prompted law enforcement officials to shut the ferry down as a precaution, according to Marion County Sheriff Clinton L. Evans.
The Arkansas State bomb squad has been contacted to identify the object and dispose of it properly. As a safety precaution, the Peel ferry will remain closed until at least 1 p.m.
