PEORIA, Ill. (AP) — Leonardo Rivas doubled and singled, scoring three runs as the Burlington Bees beat the Peoria Chiefs 6-2 on Friday.
Richard Fecteau doubled and singled twice for Burlington.
Down 1-0 in the fourth, Peoria tied it up when Stefan Trosclair hit an RBI triple, bringing home Brian O’Keefe.
Burlington answered in the top of the next frame when Fecteau hit an RBI single, bringing home Rivas.
The Bees later added three runs in the seventh and one in the ninth. In the seventh, Jonah Todd hit a two-run single, while Rivas scored on a wild pitch in the ninth.
Peoria missed an additional scoring opportunity in the seventh, when Dylan Carlson struck out with the bases loaded to end the inning.
Burlington southpaw Jose Suarez (2-1) picked up the win after allowing one run on just four hits over five innings. Opposing starter Frederis Parra (3-4) took the loss in the Midwest League game after giving up four runs and nine hits over six innings. Jonah Wesely pitched 2 1/3 scoreless innings for his first save of the season.
Trosclair was a home run short of the cycle, scoring a run and also driving one home for the Chiefs.
