A new, half-mile walking path in the unincorporated Wiseburn area with workout equipment and solar-powered pedestrian lights will be unveiled to the public this weekend.
The decomposed granite path, stretching from 135th to 139th streets on La Cienega Boulevard below the 405 Freeway, will be dedicated at a ceremony from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday.
The two-hour event will feature exercise classes, music, arts and crafts, and will be attended by Los Angeles County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas, Parks and Recreation Director John Wicker and officials from the Los Angeles Conservation Corps and Caltrans.
The path, which also has children’s activity areas and more than 3,000 drought-tolerant plants, will be open to the public daily, according to the county.
